Here at Elder5, we’re celebrating the Sharktopus countdown this week with a look at our 11 favorite Roger Corman movies. By the way, this list is drawn from the over 400 films that Corman has been involved in. Over 400! What did you do today? Roger Corman made a freakin’ movie before breakfast! With no further adieu, let’s get started:

Just one short month from today, September 25th to be exact, Sharktopus premieres on Syfy, and you haven’t even started planning yet. What are you going to do? Don’t panic! It’s not too late, not quite anyway. Elder5 has you back. I’ll be throwing out some tips each week as we count down to Sharktopus. This week I’m going to start you off with a little food and beverage: Chum Chili and Blood in the Water.

The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World hype machine rolled into San Diego Comic-Con with its own village, and that was just the tip of the hype iceberg. Multiple trailers, games, animation, interactive ads and word of mouth buzz later, the Scott Pilgrim hype was ready to sink the Titanic. It seemed hard to believe that all of this sprung from Bryan Lee O’Malley’s quirky graphic novel series. Finally the movie premiered, and Scott Pilgrim had to fight the hype. Could he defeat it?

Adult Swim is streaming Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation, and you can watch it right here on Elder5.com. This is a a 4 minute prequel to the movie based on a flashback in the second volume of the Scott Pilgrim comic. Watch it now, and see the movie tonight!

Deadline posted a rumor that Guillermo Del Toro’s next film will be At the Mountains of Madness with none other than James Cameron producing the movie as a 3D epic. I know this material, and I’m here to tell you, I don’t think this is a good idea.
