The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World hype machine rolled into San Diego Comic-Con with its own village, and that was just the tip of the hype iceberg. Multiple trailers, games, animation, interactive ads and word of mouth buzz later, the Scott Pilgrim hype was ready to sink the Titanic. It seemed hard to believe that all of this sprung from Bryan Lee O’Malley’s quirky graphic novel series. Finally the movie premiered, and Scott Pilgrim had to fight the hype. Could he defeat it?
